Happy Easter

We are having a lovely Easter Sunday. It's nice weather, the ham is in the oven, I made my first Funeral Potatoes and it's just a nice, nice day here.

The kids are out riding their scooters - Delaney has made a jump and crashed twice - but she just keeps on plugging.

We have hidden, found, and re-hidden the eggs a dozen times.

We're having mimosa's on the front porch and shooting some video. Bet you wish you were here huh?

I guess I am channeling my Mother - I was just visiting with the next door neighbors who don't seem to be having any Easter at all - and lo and behold, I seem to have invited them for Easter dinner. We have plenty and it doesn't make any difference if you set the table for 4 or set it for 6. Mommy, you're proud aren't you! lol

The plumbing disaster continues, but we think the end is in sight. The carpet is all pulled up in the basement hall and the "restoration" people think it will be okay. I was kind of hoping that we would need all new carpet in the basement, but at least the walls don't have to be replaced. Yikes. All Hail King George Royal Flush plumbing who came and took care of the problem for the second time at no charge. You have to love good customer service.

Pictures and videos are on the way. Sorry I haven't been a very good blogger in 2009. Facebook is sucking up all my time.

Love and Happy Easter.

Las Vegas Vacation

We had a great time on our Las Vegas getaway. Chris turned 40 on Friday the 13th, and we headed to Nevada (just the two of us) It was fantastic!

Went to a magic show
Saw a comedy show
Ate WAY too much at various buffets
Walked our legs off
Rode on the gondola's at the Venetian
Won enough money to pay for our trip
And we managed to see quite a few Celebrities on our trip!

Lenten Sacrifice

I frequently describe being Episcopalian as "Catholic Light." We aren't really required to give something up for Lent, but we can choose to participate. This year, the Hunt family chose to participate.

Chris is going to give up substantial carbs. Bread, pasta, crackers, potatoes, etc...

Cameron is also choosing a carbohydrate. The boy who would eat oatmeal every meal, everyday, decided it's no oats until Easter...

Delaney went with a Lenten classic.
Chocolate - in all forms. Chocolate milk, chocolate cake, chocolate chocolate...it's all out until Easter morning (when she makes up for lost time by eating every chocolate candy in her basket in record time.)

And for me? It seems like a bad idea...but I'm confidant I can do it. ("Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda)

What a weekend

The weekend was wonderful and we didn't do anything special at all.
*chris cleaned out the fly tying room
*I cut some voicetracks in the studio
*The kids painted some pretty pictures at the kitchen table.

A night in

During the Super Bowl, we saw about 27 ads for "Chuck" in 3D. We didn't have the 3D glasses, and I didn't really care - Chris and Delaney, on the other hand, went on a search of Idaho Falls to make sure they got the "Full 3D Experience."

Is this really the new normal? Are we all going to have 3D glasses next the television? It kind of makes me feel barfy.

Taking advantage of the recession

I'm almost embarrassed to say it. I have a new car. Not a "new to me" car - but an honest to goodness, it has 32 miles on it, new car. It's a Kia Sorento - it's black and it's shiny and it's 4 wheel drive.

It is a downgrade in luxury, but it is an upgrade in safety and fuel economy.

Car dealers are a tiny bit desperate, and Alex taught me to always buy a car at the end of the month. So on January 30, Robert Allen Auto Group made us a smokin' deal!

Chris doesn't give a fat fig about the car, but he is in LOVE with the warranty. 10 Years/100,000 miles Bumper to Bumper. (sexy)
